About
Clear numbers for life's big decisions.
Zenarios is an independent financial planning app from Germany. It forecasts a household's money month by month and shows what a home, a child or a new job would change, before you decide.
Why Zenarios exists
Life's big money questions depend on each other: a child changes when a home is affordable, a part-time year changes the pension, a car changes what is left to invest each month. Single calculators each see one piece, and few people keep a spreadsheet of everything up to date.
Zenarios works it all out in one plan, with the tax and pension rules that actually apply. So you can see what a decision would do before you make it, instead of guessing.
What we hold to
- Your plan stays yoursNo account, no bank login, no copy on a server. The plan lives on your device, and you can export or delete it at any time.
- Every number can be tracedAssumptions, tax rules and sources are written down in the open. Every amount can be followed back to what it is made of, and every assumption changed.
- Nothing to sellNo ads, no commissions, no funds or loans. Zenarios earns nothing from your decisions, so nothing pulls the numbers.
- Real rules, not rules of thumbIncome tax, social contributions, pensions and investment tax from the published rules: Germany in detail, and 37 more countries.
- Plain about the limitsZenarios shows estimates, not advice. Every calculator and guide says what a model can and can't do, and when it was last checked.
- Open to everyoneThe calculators on this site are free, need no sign-up and can be embedded anywhere. Their inputs never leave the browser.

How we keep the numbers honest
Tax, social-contribution and pension rules come from the published sources: the law, finance ministries, the German pension insurance, the Federal Employment Agency and national statistics offices. Each rule is checked by automated tests against reference values.
Guides, calculators and reference pages carry the date they were last checked. The methodology describes the model, the default assumptions and the sources in full.
Who stands behind it
Zenarios was founded by Constantin Metz, a software engineer near Munich who leads the product and its engineering. Zenarios is independent: no bank, broker or fund provider has a stake in it.
How the forecasting engine and the 1,000 market futures are built is written up in the engineering notes on metz.uk. The legal details are in the imprint.
