Once a month or once a quarter, update a few balances and tick off what happened. Zenarios shows whether you're ahead of your plan or behind it, and reminds you when it's time.
Zenarios forecasts your net worth month by month, until retirement and beyond. Describe your life once and see what a home, a child or a career change would do to it, before you decide.
Make it a plan.
Guided setup
A few plain questions instead of a spreadsheet. Zenarios knows typical taxes, rents and living costs for where you live, so a rough answer is good enough to start.
In a hurry? The 1-minute plan starts from a handful of answers. Sharpen it whenever you like.
Month by month
Pay, taxes, spending, loans and investment returns are calculated for every month, so your net worth forecast runs month by month until the plan ends.
A home, a child and a new car sit exactly where they happen, so you can see what each one costs you.
See when your investments could cover your costs. For Lena and Jonas that's June 2047, at 55.
Milestones
Life doesn't run in a straight line, and your plan shouldn't either. Choose from more than 30 milestones, from buying a home to retiring early, and watch your whole forecast move with each one.
Milestones can wait for the right moment too: buy the car when you can afford it, and Zenarios finds the month.
Scenarios
Compare what-if scenarios side by side. Copy your plan, change one thing, and see what the difference adds up to, where it comes from, and what it does to the year you could stop working.

Stress tests
What if one of you loses a job, or the market drops just as you retire? Throw the bad years at your plan before they happen: 13 stress tests, a Monte Carlo simulation of up to 1,000 market futures, and replays of real market history from 1929 to 2008.
Every test ends in a plain verdict: Holds, Gets tight or Runs short, with what would help.

FAQ
How the numbers are worked out: How Zenarios calculates. Something else? Write to us, we read everything.
Zenarios is a financial planning app for iPhone and Android. You describe your household once (income, spending, savings, debts and the milestones ahead) and it projects your net worth month by month until retirement and beyond. You can compare scenarios side by side, stress-test your plan and ask it questions in plain words. Your plans stay on your phone.
No. Budgeting apps look back at what you spent; Zenarios looks ahead. It turns your income, costs, savings and debts into a month-by-month forecast of your net worth, and shows what a decision like buying a home, having a child or working less would change over the years.
No. Zenarios shows estimates, based on what you tell it and on simplified tax rules. It helps you see what your choices could lead to, but it is not financial, tax or legal advice.
No. Zenarios never asks for bank logins and doesn't link to banks or brokers. You enter your numbers yourself, and rough figures are fine: wherever you're unsure, it suggests typical values for where you live.
Only on your phone. There is no account, and your plans are never sent to a server or synced. Deleting the app, or using “Delete all data” in Settings, removes everything.
Only anonymous usage statistics, such as which screens are used, and you can turn them off in Settings → Privacy. Names, amounts, balances, dates of birth and anything you type are never sent. Zenarios has no ads and no tracking, and crash reports are off unless you turn them on.
No. Wherever you're unsure, Zenarios suggests typical values for where you live, such as living costs, rents and taxes. The 1-minute plan needs only a handful of answers, and you can sharpen it later.
Yes. Zenarios works out income tax for 38 countries, in full detail for 12: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Anywhere else you enter a single tax rate, with a suggestion ready. Living-cost levels cover 153 countries, and plans can be in any local currency.
Zenarios marks financial independence from the month your savings and investments, drawn down at a safe withdrawal rate (3.5 % a year by default), plus regular income such as pensions, cover a full year of your spending after tax. Money you can't touch yet, like a pension that starts later, only counts once it's available.
Yes. Zenarios shows the date your investments could cover your costs, and has milestones for financial independence, Barista or Coast FIRE, going part-time and a sabbatical, and you can move your retirement age to see what changes. A stress test compares a 3.5 % and a 4 % withdrawal rate, so you can see how much the rule of thumb matters.
By default, Zenarios assumes 2 % inflation, a 5 % return on investments, 1.5 % interest on cash and 2 % growth in home prices, with pay rising in line with inflation. Every assumption can be changed, and any amount can be shown at today's prices.
From official statistics and published rules, bundled with the app: among others OECD Taxing Wages and Pensions at a Glance, Eurostat, the World Bank, Destatis and national tax and statistics offices. Market history comes from Robert Shiller's and Aswath Damodaran's data. Zenarios lists every source in Settings → Data sources and rules.
Zenarios runs 13 stress tests, such as job loss, a market crash, a crash just as you retire, an inflation spike and a long life. A Monte Carlo simulation plays up to 1,000 market futures, and history replays run your plan through real markets starting in 1929, 1966, 1973, 2000 and 2008. Each test ends in a plain verdict: Holds, Gets tight or Runs short.
Yes. For German plans, Zenarios works out the statutory pension from your pension points, the age you claim it and the early or late adjustments. For other countries it estimates state pensions from published rules or OECD figures, and you can always enter your own amount.
Yes. A plan in Zenarios can be for one person or a couple, with two incomes, joint taxes for married couples, shared accounts and children.
Ask knows about 50 common questions, like “Can we afford a child?” or “When can I stop working?”. It matches what you type to one of them and works out the answer from your plan's numbers, right on your phone. It doesn't use a language model, and nothing you type leaves the device.
Yes. Zenarios exports all your plans and settings as a JSON file, the year-by-year forecast as a CSV table, and a plan, decision, comparison or stress test as a PDF report, with names hidden if you like.
Zenarios runs on iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later and on Android. It speaks English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Filipino, in light or dark mode.
Up to five at a time, each with its own scenarios to compare.
