Terms of use
Last updated 29 October 2026
These terms apply to the use of zenarios.com, the web app at app.zenarios.com and the Zenarios app for iPhone (together “Zenarios”). The provider is the operator named in the imprint (“we”). This English version is for convenience; the German version is binding.
1. The service
Zenarios is a free tool for personal financial planning. From your inputs and simplified rules it works out forecasts, scenarios and calculator results. You don't need an account to use it. We keep developing Zenarios and may change, add or remove features.
2. No advice
Zenarios shows estimates. It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy or sell any financial product. Results depend on your inputs and assumptions and may differ from what actually happens. The decisions are yours; for your personal situation, ask a qualified adviser.
3. Your data and backups
Plans are stored only on your device or in your browser, not with us, so we can't recover lost data. You are responsible for your own backups; the app offers an export for this. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Zenarios for your own purposes. You may not disrupt or overload it, get around its protections, or retrieve the website's content automatically on a large scale, unless the law allows it. The calculators may be embedded on other websites with the embed code provided, including its source link.
5. Rights in the content
Zenarios' texts, graphics, software and trademarks are protected. Short quotations with a source are allowed; beyond that, copying needs our permission unless the law allows it. Published data, such as the pension-by-occupation figures, carries its own note on reuse.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Zenarios running without interruption but can't promise it will always be available. Maintenance, development or problems at service providers can limit use for a time.
7. Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For a slightly negligent breach of an essential obligation, one that makes use possible at all and that you may rely on, we are liable only for the foreseeable damage typical of such a case. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded. Because Zenarios is free of charge, any further statutory relief from liability remains unaffected.
8. The iPhone app
The iPhone app is also subject to the App Store terms and Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Apple is not the provider of Zenarios and is not responsible for the app.
9. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when Zenarios or the law changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date it applies from.
10. Law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in remain unaffected. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
11. Final provisions
If any provision is invalid, the rest remain valid. Questions about these terms: .
