Die Finanzplanungsfunktionen von Zenarios
Geprüft am 24. Oktober 2026
Monthly cash flow and net worth forecasts
Project income, spending, taxes, savings, investments, assets and debts month by month.
Inspect the months behind the long-term chart, see cash shortfalls, and distinguish accessible money from property and locked retirement accounts. Plans can cover one person or a couple with children. Start with a 1-minute quick plan or a longer guided setup, then refine the estimates.
Umfang und Grenzen: A forecast follows your inputs and assumptions. A positive net worth does not mean cash is available to pay a bill.
Scenarios and the What-if Lab
Compare alternative life plans and see changes in net worth, cash flow and financial independence.
Copy a scenario or use the What-if Lab to change income, spending, saving, market assumptions and retirement. Compare alternatives against the same starting household before saving a change. Keep up to five separate plans, each with its own scenarios.
Umfang und Grenzen: The comparison explains the consequences of the assumptions you choose; it cannot choose your priorities or predict which future will happen.

31 life milestone templates
Model home and car purchases, children, work changes, retirement, family events and savings goals.
Put events in a particular month, connect their income and costs, and compare timing. Home purchases connect the deposit, purchase costs, loan, running costs and property. Car plans compare cash, financing and leasing. Child plans connect child costs, childcare and parental work changes. Some purchases can wait until the plan can afford them.
Umfang und Grenzen: Typical costs are starting estimates. Replace them with local quotes and your household's circumstances.
Zum Ratgeber: Rent vs buy: compare the whole financial plan →
Decision reports and reverse calculators
Explore buy vs rent, car financing, save vs invest, repay vs invest, debt payoff and working less.
Decision reports compare choices inside the household forecast. Reverse calculators search for savings needed to retire at an age, an earliest retirement age, a FIRE target, spending room or a home price. German plans also have pension-depot and health-insurance comparisons where applicable.
Umfang und Grenzen: Availability depends on your plan and country. Calculator thresholds are conditional model results, not lender approval, product recommendations or optimized tax advice.
Retirement, FIRE, Coast FIRE and Barista FIRE planning
Estimate financial independence from accessible assets, after-tax income and the spending you want to cover.
Change retirement ages, set a retirement spending target in today's money or as a share of current spending, and model part-time work or a sabbatical. The Barista or Coast FIRE template reduces pay and stops investing the leftover; edit savings transfers separately when needed. Pensions only help once they are available.
Umfang und Grenzen: The independence date is a model threshold, not a guarantee that withdrawals will last. The Coast/Barista template is not a separate analytical Coast FIRE number calculator.
Zum Ratgeber: Coast FIRE vs Barista FIRE: can you work less sooner? →
Flexible retirement spending and return assumptions
Model spending cuts after market falls, withdrawal-rate guardrails and different returns after retiring.
Choose market-drop steps or guardrails, set limits on cuts and raises, and apply the rule to discretionary spending or all expenses. Market simulations show how often spending is cut and how deep cuts become. A post-retirement return and volatility assumption can represent a different investment mix.
Umfang und Grenzen: A simulation can succeed by spending less. Review the cuts alongside whether money lasts; the model does not trade or rebalance real investments.
Zum Ratgeber: Retirement spending guardrails: what happens when you cut back? →
13 shocks, Monte Carlo futures and historical replays
Stress-test job loss, crashes, inflation, longevity and more; simulate up to 1,000 market futures.
Shock tests report Holds, Gets tight or Runs short. Monte Carlo varies investment returns and inflation around your assumptions. US market history covers 1872–2025 with preset starts in 1929, 1966, 1973, 2000 and 2008. Scenarios of the same plan face the same simulated market futures for comparison.
Umfang und Grenzen: A simulated success rate is conditional on the model, inputs and horizon. US history is not a complete picture of international markets or future crises.

Debt payoff and rules for leftover money
Compare avalanche and snowball debt payoff and model where spare monthly money goes.
Set extra repayments and a cash cushion, roll payments from cleared debts into the next debt, and compare debt-free dates and interest. Decide whether leftover money stays in cash, is invested or is spent. Scheduled transfers model saving between accounts.
Umfang und Grenzen: Check actual loan conditions, early repayment fees and minimum payments. A modeled debt strategy does not change a loan or make payments for you.

Accounts, assets and retirement access rules
Model checking, savings and investment accounts, retirement accounts, property, vehicles and loans.
Accounts can have their own rates and taxable, tax-free or tax-deferred treatment. Retirement account access ages and payout choices affect when money can fund spending. Fixed-term savings, foreign-currency holdings and rotating savings circles can also be represented.
Umfang und Grenzen: Country presets simplify real products. There are no bank connections, automatic transaction imports or dedicated US Roth-conversion, RMD or Social Security claiming optimizers.
Country-specific tax, pension and cost estimates
Income-tax systems for 38 countries, cost levels for 153 and local housing estimates in 12.
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have more detailed tax models; another 26 have simpler coverage. Elsewhere, enter an effective tax rate. German statutory pensions use pension points and claiming age; other state-pension estimates use country rules or published replacement rates. Enter your own pension amount when you have a statement.
Umfang und Grenzen: Coverage varies by country and account. This is not complete tax software, a benefits eligibility decision or a cross-border tax engine. Inspect the methodology and the app's Data sources and rules.
Today's prices and editable assumptions
Switch between future nominal amounts and purchasing power at today's prices.
Edit inflation, investment returns, cash interest, property growth and the withdrawal rate. Set a separate retirement spending target and explore lower returns or higher costs rather than relying on one smooth forecast.
Umfang und Grenzen: Defaults are planning assumptions, not return forecasts. Avoid entering an inflation-adjusted return into a field that expects a nominal return.

Ask questions about your plan
Ask supported questions in plain language and get answers calculated from your own plan.
Ask recognizes around 50 question types, including when you could retire, working less, home affordability and debt. It matches your wording to a supported calculation and runs it on your device. It does not use an LLM or send the question to an AI provider.
Umfang und Grenzen: Ask is a finite set of supported questions, not an open-ended financial adviser or general chatbot.

Check-ins, goals and reminders
Update balances and completed events, compare progress and refresh the forecast.
Monthly or quarterly check-ins bring the plan forward using actual balances. Track savings, investment and debt-free goals, mark milestones that happened, and use local reminders on supported devices. Example households let you explore before entering your own figures.
Umfang und Grenzen: Progress depends on manual updates. Browser notification support differs from the native app; no bank feed updates balances automatically.
Local data, backups and reports
Plan without an account or bank login; export PDF reports, yearly CSV forecasts and JSON backups.
Plans are stored on the device or in that browser. PDF reports cover a plan, decision, comparison or stress test, with an option to hide names. JSON exports back up plans and settings and can be restored on another device. The web app and iPhone app support seven languages, light and dark mode and four text sizes. The full web app is free for now.
Umfang und Grenzen: There is no automatic cross-device sync or account recovery. Clearing browser storage or deleting the app can remove plans. Anonymous usage statistics can be disabled in Settings; crash reports are opt-in. Keep backups somewhere private.
